Seasonal hydrosol: Eucalyptus

How to use: Use it as a face toner, after shave, and a refreshing immuno + respiratory protective mist. Spray anytime when you need it. Dilute down with water for nasal rinse, mouth gargling and internal use. Safe on children above 3, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and adults.

Aromatherapy properties: Gently stimulating to both the mind and the body, immune and respiratory support. A great hydrosol to spray onto face during this hazy season.

Health benefits: Like eucalyptus essential oil, eucalyptus hydrosol is the first line of defense against respiratory problems and infections, coughs, colds, chest infections, and hay fever–type allergies. It makes a good gargle, mouthwash, nasal rinse disinfectant/sinus congestion or natural cough syrup. At the onset of a cold or flu, take one teaspoon in a small amount of water every two hours on the first day that symptoms appear. Very mildly diuretic, eucalyptus hydrosol (when diluted with water) seems supportive to the hepatorenal system, enlivening both liver and kidney functions, improving excretion, and giving a general feeling of lightness. Japanese research has shown eucalyptus to have reasonably strong antioxidant properties in both topical and internal use.

Storage: If not using for more than 2 months, you may store in the fridge to help extend its shelf-life. Keep away from direct heat, light/sunlight and refrain from opening bottle cap around wet, moist areas to prevent contamination.
