Seasonal Body Oil: ANCIENT RITUAL

I will launch affordable, themed seasonal body oil every year because I find it so important for our skin to receive different phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals from a mix of plant lipids and botanical extracts. Each theme will be carefully thought of, and it will address common health issues that we face in our daily life; such as stress, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, poor circulation, body tension etc. But sometimes it can be fun-themed because life also needs to have some sugar, spice and everything nice right?

I would love everyone to start adopting this habit of oiling/moisturising oneself as a part of a daily self-care routine. And together with this condition-based seasonal body oil, you get health and wellness plus skincare benefits.

I have always loved reading about ancient civilisations and archaelogical studies on botanical-related findings. Since 2500 years ago, humans have already been smelling good and looking beautiful with plants and oils. Handmade botanical oils were everywhere in the ancient world, from perfume oils that were used to adorn the body to incense burnt in homes and temples.

Botanical oils have so much purposes and meanings - they are holy and sacred, used in the worship of the Gods or the burial of the dead; they are also a symbol of royal status and superiority, used by athletes, aristocrats, politicians, and as perfumes by the Kings and Queens; they are medicinal, used to relieve ailments and diseases of the skin and body. In the ancient world - Egypt, Greece, and across the entire Arabian continent, scented oils were part of ritual, beauty, and commerce—much as it is today.

In ANCIENT RITUAL, I have chosen botanicals that were used across Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greek and Roman empire, where these plants were popularly traded and prepared in perfume salves and in scented oils. A base blend of olive oil, sweet almond oil and pomegranate seed oil is a thick and luxurious blend that is fitted for the ancient royalty during those times. I also chose middle notes of sweet rose, cinnamon spice, styrax oleoresin, and frankincense + myrrh resins as base notes, topping off with aromatic herbs of fennel seeds and wild Mediterranean mountain oregano.

P/S My olive oil, sweet almond oil, pomegranate seed oil, oregano leaf oil and rose oil are grown, harvested and sourced from the ancient lands of Turkiye, which was formerly part of Ancient Greek and Roman empire. This makes the formulation extra beautiful and mystical as I can stay true to the concept on recreating an ancient scented body oil recipe <3
