Herbal Folk Tradition

Arnica, a perennial alpine herb native to Europe, and also found growing wild in Russia, Scandinavia and northern India. Arnica’s derived from the Greek word “arnakis”, which means “lamb’s skin”, referring to its downy wooly leaves. The fresh flowers, which looks like yellow daisy-like florets, were traditionally harvested to make a tincture, infused oil or salve. No first aid kit is complete without arnica in the past! Herbalists used to make a poultice out of it, applying on injuries, aches and pains.
